Wine Enthusiast 93 points – Sunbaked soil, mature plum, vanilla and a balsamic note of menthol lead the nose. The ripe, velvety palate doles out juicy black cherry, crushed raspberry, mocha and baking spice alongside hearty but polished tannins. It’s already delicious and accessible but also shows some staying power. Drink 2017-2028..Kerin O’Keefe
Vinous 93 points – A big, structured wine, the 2010 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Vigna Pian di Conte is going to need at least a few years to unwind. Big, strapping tannins provide the framework for a wine endowed with considerable depth. Dark cherry, plum, menthol, incense, earthiness and savory herbs gradually unfurl, but the best is yet to come. 93+ Points.Antonio Galloni
Wine Advocate 93 points – The 2010 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Pian di Conte impresses for the seamless presentation it offers. Blackberry and dark cherry nuances segue to spice, leather and tobacco. The bouquet makes these jumps with effortless transitions and it builds important momentum that adds to the wine’s length and persistence. Compared to the 2010 Annata, this 2010 Riserva is slightly bolder and heavier..Monica Larner
