COMMENTARY: With such a star-studded line up that Ridge Vineyards has with its world of wines, the Three Valleys Red Wine is sometimes overlooked by my wine pals and myself. Fortunately, after tasting the wines over a decade, I have grown to appreciate this wine. The 2017 vintage possesses what it needs, and it belongs in the company of the best. TASTING NOTES: This wine is nicely balanced and pleasingly open-knit. Its aromas and flavors of ripe berries are already showing well. Pair it with a double-thick grilled pork chop. Lively and well-built, with expressive cherry, roasted dill and white pepper flavors that glide toward refined tannins. Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Carignane and Grenache.
Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate

The Three Valleys is Ridge’s general Sonoma County blend, made with fruit from ten different old-vine Zinfandel vineyards throughout Sonoma. The 2017 is comprised of 73% Zinfandel, 15% Petite Sirah, 10% Carignane and 2% Grenache, aged 11 months in 5% new American oak. The 2017 Three Valleys has a medium ruby color with scents of warm apricots and baked peaches, red cherries, blueberries, crushed stone and oodles of floral perfume. The medium-bodied palate offers concentrated, tricolored fruits with juicy acidity and grainy tannins, finishing long and perfumed.
