100% Sauvignon Blance: Soft and rounded, this rich wine brings out the smoother side of Sauvignon Blanc. With its apple and pear flavors, it has ripeness that is cut by lime acidity.
Michel Girard, with sons Philippe and Beoit, produce outstanding wines from 50 acres of estate vines planted in all 3 of Sancerre’s distinct soil types; silex, caillottes and terre blanches.
Since 1875, Domaine des Brosses blends with the landscape of the Sancerre hills. Operated by Alain Girard until 2007, the estate is now ensured by his sons Anthony and Nicolas.
The vineyard :
The estate covers 11 hectares of Sancerre, including 9 hectares of Sauvignon and 2 hectares of Pinot Noir, on clay-limestone soil called “white soils” and “caillottes”. The basement is exclusively limestone typical of the Sancerre appellation.
The production :
We produce 70,000 bottles each year from a traditional and reasoned culture. The various stages in the vineyard and in our cellars are carried out by us within the domain.
